Compact compatibility

Convert HEIC to JPEG on Mac as photos arrive.

JPEG is accepted almost everywhere and usually stays compact. AfterAir lets you set the quality once, then quietly converts each new HEIC locally.

When JPEG is the practical choice

Use JPEG for websites, email attachments, client delivery, social posts, and apps that do not recognize HEIC. It is usually the best default for photographic content when small files matter.

Choose quality with intention

Higher quality preserves more detail but produces larger files. A middle-to-high setting is a sensible starting point for everyday photos; keep the original HEIC if you may need the source later.

How to automate HEIC to JPEG

  1. Choose the folder where AirDrop saves photos.
  2. Select JPEG and set the desired quality.
  3. Send a photo from your iPhone as usual.
  4. Use the completion notification to open the finished folder.
No upload queue: AfterAir performs the conversion with native macOS frameworks on your computer.

What if I need lossless output?

For UI references, document assets, or repeated editing, read the HEIC to PNG guide. PNG is larger but does not add JPEG compression.

From transfer to usable file

The value is not another converter window. It is removing the conversion action entirely. See the complete automatic AirDrop HEIC workflow.
